NH and MA Mortgage Rates
February 9th, 2008 12:50 PM

NH and MA Mortgage rates are at a five year lows right now.  But there are a couple important things to keep in mind while you search for NH and MA mortgage companies and mortgage rates.  The most important factor to consider when looking for low interest rates is whether or not the advertised mortgage rate comes with points.  If you use www.bankrate.com to follow mortgage rate trends you might be disappointed to find out that those rates are only obtainable by paying points.  "Points" are a percentage of the loan amount a borrower pays in order to receive an interest rate that is below the market average.  Unless you are going to stay in your home for more than ten years or the seller is paying the points for you, I always recommend against paying points.  In New England borrowers more often than not choose to not pay points.  In other areas of the country it is common to refinance and pay points, which is why many sites advertise mortgage rates with points.

At First Call Mortgage we offer our existing clients the opportunity to refinance with no closing costs.  If you are a client of ours and your credit remains in good standing you can always refinance with no closing costs.  This helps eliminate the stress of trying to "find the bottom."  Many homeowners hold off or hesitate to refinance because they think rates will be lower down the road.  At First Call Mortgage you are able to take advantage of TODAY's low mortgage rates and also be able to relax and know that if mortgage rates drop in the future you can refinance with no closing costs.   If you have any questions about refinancing or where interest rates are,  please don't hesitate to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
